First elected in 2014, Deputy Mayor Stephen Holyday was returned to City Council on October 22, 2018 to represent the new Ward 2, Etobicoke Centre.
In 2017, Mayor John Tory appointed Stephen as Deputy Mayor during his first Council term, and reappointed him as Deputy Mayor again in 2018.
Deputy Mayor Holyday is Chair of City Council’s Special Committee on Governance and Chair of the Audit Committee. He serves as Vice Chair of the General Government and Licensing Committee, and on the Striking Committee, and the Etobicoke York Community Council. Deputy Mayor Holyday is Vice Chair of Exhibition Place Board of Governors, a member of the Board of Directors of the Hockey Hall of Fame, and the board of the Canadian National Exhibition Association. Stephen Holyday is the Mayor’s designate on the Board of Directors of Toronto Hydro.
A proud lifelong resident of Etobicoke, before being elected to public office, Stephen Holyday was Manager, Service Management, at the Ontario Ministry of Energy. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Architectural Science from Ryerson University.
